Globally considered as one of the finest skiing destinations on the planet, the French Alps continue to attract more visitors in winter than any other ski resort. They provide excellent snow conditions, the broadest range of skiing options in the world, and not to mention some of the best winter events available. BMW Polo Masters in Courchevel – 29th January – 1st February

Courchevel welcomed the BMW Polo Masters for the 5th time this year, for a unique event of high quality polo on snow. The competition is fiercely contested and not to be missed for all polo and sports enthusiasts.

International Fireworks Festival in Courchevel – 12th February – 5th March

active-2404_1280(1)Every year, over 8,000 spectators visit Courchevel for a unique fireworks competition filled with drama and sparkle as elite pyrotechnic companies compete to put on the best display from atop Europe’s highest mountains. A particular highlight is the traditional torch-lit procession down the slopes by the resort’s ski instructors.

The Brits in Tignes – 21st – 28th March 2015 

For more than 25 years, The Brits has been attracting thousands of ski and snowboard enthusiasts, across a range of abilities, to the slopes of Tignes. During a week of snowsports, music and festivities, visitors can enjoy the annual British Snowboard and Freeski Championships, freestyle events and lively club nights with previous performances courtesy of Chase & Status and Ben Howard.

Snowboxx in Alpe D’Huez – 21st-28th March

For an alternative to The Brits, the week-long festival Snowboxx features 2ManyDJs and 2014’s phenomenon Jungle among others on two open-air stages, as well as late night terrace parties and pool parties to the light of glowsticks.

Rock the Pistes in Portes du Soleil – 14th – 21st March

Across the Portes du Soleil ski resort encompassing both sides of the Franco-Swiss border, this week long festival welcomes a range of different acts from Charlie Winston to reggae band Dub Inc. in a different location every day. The concerts are free and take place at lunchtime and at the closing of the slopes, to ensure a vibrant atmosphere upon the slopes throughout the day.

Hot Ice Festival in Val d’Isère – 11th April – 3rd May
To mark the end of the ski season in the Alps, Val d’Isère hosts three weeks of exciting events and parties at the Hot Ice Festival. Visitors can expect guided tours, races and a rich calendar of après entertainment in all its guises.
