Not to be missed: a trip from Nice to Saint-Tropez for one of the world’s most famous sailing events
One of the most exciting and elegant events to be held in the south of France each year is Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. The world famous sailing regatta is regarded by many as the most glamorous yachting fixture of the season, and is well worth a visit from Nice to Saint-Tropez.
From 24th September to October 2nd, more than 300 sailing yachts will converge on the picturesque fishing port, just 20 minutes by helicopter from Nice to Saint-Tropez, to compete in the week-long festival.

And after the yachts have taken down their sails for the day, the port of Saint-Tropez and the dozens of boats anchored in the bay erupts into one big party. The races are classed according to the type of yacht, and before heading by helicopter from Nice to Saint-Tropez it is worth noting the race schedules. Races include the Traditional class, for classic yachts, the Modern Class, the Esprit de Tradition class, The Wally class and the 12 Meter America’s Cup Yachts class.
