Monaco’s Cultural Scene

The glamorous tax haven of Monaco is known the world over for its exotic Casino, a port packed with luxury yachts and the yearly Formula 1 Grand Prix.
But what is less known about the principality, which can be reached in minutes from almost anywhere along the coast when using our helicopter company, is its extraordinary array of cultural events which are held in Monaco throughout the year.

Monaco is the second smallest country in the world, after the Vatican City, yet you would never guess its miniscule size if you were ever presented with a list of the scores of art, music and drama events that are held there every year.

So for the culturally minded who would like to travel by helicopter to Monaco from Saint Tropez for example, to catch an opera or theatre performance worthy of the West End, we have put together a list of activities to consider.

  • For premier theatre shows in Monaco there is the Theatre de Princess Grace, a wonderful venue a stone’s throw from the headquarters of our helicopter company in Antibes which offers a varied program including plays in English, French and Italian.
  • Monaco is extremely fortunate to have its own orchestra which is based at the impressive Grimaldi Forum, and is called the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo.
  • Another huge string to Monaco’s bow and definite a reason why you might book a helicopter to Monaco from St Tropez is its own opera company, Opera de Monte-Carlo, which was founded in the 1870s by Prince Charles III.
  • For historians there is the New National Museum Monaco, which recently opened in two venues – Villa Paloma and Villa Sauber. The museum is free to everyone under the age of 26 and focuses on modern, contemporary works of art.
