Once you’ve arrived in St Tropez this summer you may never want to leave. For where better to spend those sun-drenched days than on on of St Tropez’s golden sandy beaches, sipping champagne under the delicate shades of a beach club parasol?
But believe me – there are some events on the Cote d’Azur that are truly worth getting off your sun lounger for, such as the Sporting Summer Festival in Monte Carlo.
It takes just 20 minutes to fly in a helicopter to Monaco for the unique experience, that is every bit as glamorous as you would expect from the Principality’s premier music festival.
The festival, held in the superb Salles des Etoiles which lies next to the exclusive Monte Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort, has been drawing some of the best international performers since it started up more than 30 years ago.
And year after year scores of music lovers have made the journey by helicopter to Monaco from St Tropez to listen to the tunes from the unique venue overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
The 2012 season will not disappoint. From July 6th to August 18th the music festival that always draws the biggest names to the French Riviera will rock the nights away in a series of seriously excellent concerts.
First on the line-up is Latino legend Enrique Inglesias, who will play for two nights from the 6th and 7th July – so if his performance clashes with something else un-missable in St Tropez on one of those evening, why not make the journey by helicopter to Monaco the following night?
Other performers include Johnny Hallyday, George Benson, Tony Bennett, Boy George, Duran Duran and Kool and the Gang – to name but a few.
For those who choose, the evening begins at 20.30 with a sumptuous three-course dinner with exclusive wines which can be enjoyed whilst listening to the live bands. Or alternatively just come along for the music – and be home by midnight by reserving a return helicopter from Monaco to St Tropez.
