Not to be outdone for off-piste entertainment, France boasts seven Michelin-starred restaurants, each of which is worth the trip alone. Renowned chef, Pierre Gagnier’s upscale Les Airelles restaurant boasts jewel-toned silk curtains, Hermes tableware and Saint Louise chandeliers, as well as an incredible two stars, and the food is as decadent as the surroundings. In Courchevel, Cheval Blanc is another establishment to boast two stars thanks to its creative approach to traditional French cuisine. Such is the artistic presentation, ambience and environment that one would be forgiven for thinking that they were in a gallery.

Those looking for something a little further ‘off-piste’ should visit the Austrian side of the Alps; the traditional home of the Snow Polo World Cup. The four-day event takes place in the delightful town of Kitzbuhel and just like St Moritz’s famous version, brings society’s elite together for a huge celebration that has to be seen to be believed. The only problem is that with the magnificent Wilder Kaiser Mountain towering over the field it can be difficult to know whether to follow the action or enjoy the view.

Not to be left out of the excitement, Italy’s Swing on Snow festival in Seiser Alm should also be considered when you book your Helisecurite Alps transfer. This quaint festival is full of folksy brass and accordion sounds that seem to add magic to these mountains. Expect traditional Alpine volksmusik as well as a smattering of jazz, soul, klezmer, classical and even film scores.
