Just as the French city of Cannes waves good bye to one set of delegates from MIPCOM, it is almost time to welcome another group of visitors, on this occasion for TFWA World Exhibition & Conference which opens next week.
TFWA – which stands for the Trade Free World Association – is the largest professional body in global duty free and travel retail worldwide. As part of the association’s roles to promote the interest of its members and the wider duty-free industry, it runs a number of exhibitions, perhaps, the most important of which will take place in the festival city of Cannes from 18th to 23rd October.
The exhibition, which will take place in and around the Palais des Festivals et Congres on the world-famous La Croisette in Cannes, offers industry insiders the chance to forge relationships with other businesses in duty tree and travel retail via a number of conferences, workshops and social events.
For example, next week’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference will open with a glitzy event in the Hotel Carlton, on the seafront, whilst there will be several extremely relevant workshops held from Monday to Friday including a focus workshop on In-flight trends.
The TFWA World Conference itself will take place on Monday, October 19th when Erik Juul-Mortensen, president of the TFWA, will welcome speakers to the stage, including former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and Peter Long, joint CEO of the TUI Group, the largest leisure, travel and Tourism Company in the world.
More than 475 companies from all over the world will travel to Cannes to take part in the TFWA World Exhibition, where they will showcase more than 3,000 products covering ten categories including Jewellery & Watches, Pens & Toys, Electronics and Fashion will be on display in the Palais des Festivals.
Each exhibitor will be hoping to grain brand recognition and generate new leads in an increasingly competitive international market.
