The Monaco Yacht Show

Note to diary: organise helicopter from Cannes to Monaco for the 21st Monaco Yacht Show

Arguably the most luxurious and lucrative event on the global yachting calendar – The Monaco Yacht Show – is set to take centre stage next month when it opens at the end of September. The 21st Monaco Yacht Show will take place between September 21st and 24th in Port Hercules, which is just 20 minutes by helicopter from Cannes.

Last Year, the 20th Monaco Yacht Show bucked global economic caution with insiders seeing its success as a sign that the super yacht industry was beginning to bounce back after difficult period. And Informa Group, the leading global yachting events company that hosts the Monaco Yacht Show, hope that this year is even better.

If the thought of seeing dozens of superyachts lined up in Monaco doesn’t make you book your helicopter from Cannes to Monaco, maybe the promise of a world exclusive will.

“The 21st Monaco Yacht Show is a unique, world-first occasion to visit fortyish of the most beautiful motor and sailing-yachts built in 2011 and whose average size is about 44 meters in length,” a spokesman for Informa Group said.

One such never-to-be-seen before boat that could make your trip by helicopter from Cannes to Monaco is Seven Seas, an 86 meter vision of beauty designed by Nuvolari and Lenard in conjunction with Azure Naval Architects and interior decorator Molly Isaksen.  The super yacht boasts an infinity swimming pool that transforms into a helipad, plus a projector which allows swimmers to indulge in the latest movie while bathing at sea.

The show, which also attracts more than 500 exhibitors, is sponsored by Ulysse Nardin for the third year running. The Swiss-based watchmaker, launched in 1846, will mark this year’s event with the launch of their new MYS limited series of timepieces.

Exhibitors at the Monaco Yacht Show include industry leaders who come to the Principality to show case luxury products, services and facilities.
